Goodreads Synopsis:

Braden Mack thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in love, but he’ll soon discover that real life is better than fiction.

Liv Papandreas has a dream job as a sous chef at Nashville’s hottest restaurant. Too bad the celebrity chef owner is less than charming behind kitchen doors. After she catches him harassing a young hostess, she confronts him and gets fired. Liv vows revenge, but she’ll need assistance to take on the powerful chef.

Unfortunately, that means turning to Braden Mack. When Liv’s blackballed from the restaurant scene, the charismatic nightclub entrepreneur offers to help expose her ex-boss, but she is suspicious of his motives. He’ll need to call in reinforcements: the Bromance Book Club.

Inspired by the romantic suspense novel they’re reading, the book club assists Liv in setting up a sting operation to take down the chef. But they’re just as eager to help Mack figure out the way to Liv’s heart… even though she’s determined to squelch the sparks between them before she gets burned.

My Thoughts:

After reading The Bromance Book Club (Bromance Book Club #1), I knew that I had found a new auto buy author in Lyssa Kay Adams.  When Undercover Bromance (Bromance Book Club #2) became available for pre-order, I jumped on it!

Let me just say that if you enjoyed The Bromance Book Club, you’ll enjoy this one as well.  In the second installment of the series we get to know Braden Mack, a successful restaurant and nightclub owner, and Liv Papandreas, an up and coming chef.  In the first book you already know that Braden Mack is a ladies man, a player of sorts and a friend of pro baseball player Gavin Scott. Liv is Gavin’s sister-in-law.

I liked Braden’s character in the first book, and I like him even more now after reading this one.  His sarcasm in the first book made me laugh, his character this time around is more serious. It seems he’s tired of being known as the ladies man.

I also really liked Liv’s character.  I wasn’t a huge fan of hers in the first book since she wasn’t rooting for her sister’s marriage to work, but she redeemed herself to me in this book.

When Liv and Braden get together to take down Liv’s old boss they were like a match made in heaven to me.  Both sarcastic, both afraid of letting someone down, both very strong willed. When The Bromance Book Club is brought in, things get really entertaining.  I love The Russian!! His lines make me laugh every single time.

I first started reading this book when the world was going into full on panic mood, and I thought to myself  “I can’t do another #metoo story line right now, I need romance!” Thankfully my assumptions were wrong. While this storyline is a little heavier than her previous book because it does hit on issues close to home for many, the romance triumphs!

This book is the pick me up you need, we all need, right now and it’s available now!  So get online and support your local bookstore because they need all the help they can get right now!  Crazy Stupid Bromance (Bromance Book Club #3) comes out in October!

Book Rating: 5/5

For the grand finale this would pair nicely with a Penfolds Bin 9 Cabernet Sauvignon 2014.
