Thoughts

Celeste Donovan is a very powerful, beautiful and rich woman who is at the top of her game in the finance world.  Having friends who are equally as rich and powerful as she is means exotic vacations and endless bottle service when they go out on the town.  Celeste can have any man she wants, and she often does.  She is not the settling down type of woman after her past relationship with Omar, but then she meets Theodore who dies soon after.  Due to the nature of his death Celeste believes Omar is back and will stop at nothing to get to her.

This was such a unique read, and by that I mean some of the chapters were hard to stomach.  Omar is occasionally brought up in passing conversations between Celeste and her friends, but we don’t really “meet” him until we’re taken back to the beginning of their relationship.  Rape, physical and mental abuse, and more violence is what their relationship consisted of.  After Celeste gets back to town she confides in one of her friends about what happened, and together they scheme to ruin Omar financially.

When Celeste meets Theodore they seemed like a match made in heaven.  There was something mysterious about his character from the start and it had me questioning whether or not he was one of Omar’s goonies, but then he dies and Omar comes back into the picture.  The ending has a few good twists and turns especially the three little words on the last page: To Be Continued!

This one is out now!
