Poppy and Alex have been friends since college, but it didn’t seem they would become friends the first time they met.  Poppy is outspoken, colorful and open while Alex is quiet, loves his khakis, keeps to himself.  In some weird way they bring out the best in each other.  Poppy travels for her job, and she takes Alex with her and boy do they have some wild adventures.  They had the best times together until the line was crossed in Croatia.  We don’t know what happened until close to the end, but Alex and Poppy did not talk for 2 years after that trip.  Alternating chapters between This Summer (present day) and working backwards starting at 12 Summers Ago we go on all of Alex and Poppy’s travels and everything in between.

Oh this book!  I rooted for Poppy and Alex to get together from the get go, but they had to go through relationships with other people first.  I yelled at Poppy to tell Alex how she feels before he made a mistake with a past girlfriend.  This book will make you laugh, cry, cheer and swoon until the very end.  I could go on and on about this one, but I know I would say too much before you have a chance to read it.   If you loved the author’s book Beach Read from last year then you will love People We Meet On Vacation.

This one is out now!
