My Mini Thoughts

This was a cute read, and my first Alisha Rai book.  I’m reading them backwards since this is Book #2 and I have Book #1 on my shelf to be read.

What I enjoyed about this book is that it’s a love story and neither party is aware of the other person’s feelings.  What really throws a wrench in them revealing their feelings is….Jas works for Katrina.  However, before he worked for Katrina, Jas worked for her deceased husband.  The fact that the characters are not perfect and have issues made them more relatable to me.

What I wasn’t crazy about was the slow romance burn.  Yes, both are dealing with other issues than their feelings for each other, but when my kindle says I’ve read 50% of the book and there is still no action I need things to speed up a little more.  When they finally did, and you know they do, it was everything I was hoping it would be.

I felt the ending was a little rushed.  I could have used more detail on a few things that were brought up.  Other than that, this is a good read that I would recommend.

Book Rating: 3/5

For the grand finale this would pair nicely with a 2017 St Supéry Sauvignon Blanc.
